The new Safety Car in Formula 1 is the Mercedes SLS AMG. Mercedes has been responsible for providing the safety car in Formula 1 during the last 14 years.

    The Mercedes SLS AMG Safety Car will be powered by an AMG V8 6.3-liter engine that generates an output of 571 hp and 650 Nm of torque. This power will enable it to 0 to 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds. The safety car has to be quite fast because otherwise, covers and brakes of the cars not cooled fast enough and the engine might overheat.
